MOTORISED CURTAIN REPAIRS

PROBLEM 1: LOSS OR SHIFT OF LIMIT SETTINGS ON CURTAIN TRACK

The motorised curtain track will not stop at either the closed or open limit setting when the curtain is activated. Or the limit setting has shifted and is no longer stopping at the original position where the motorised curtain track setting were originally positioned.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:

- A power interruption has caused the limit settings to be lost.

-Possible Repair Solution: Reseting of motorised curtain track limit setting.

-Motorised Curtain track  drive belt or idler gear damaged

-Possible Repair Solution: Parts many be available depending on the make and model of track, how ever complete track replacement may be required.

-Remote Control or Mechanical Limits have been tampered with.

Possible Repair Solution: Resetting of curtain track limit settings.

-Motor is faulty or about to fail.

-Possible Repair Solution: Replace with new curtain track motor.

PROBLEM 2: MOTORISED CURTAIN OPENING AND CLOSING AT SLOWER SPEED.

Your motorised curtain is suddenly opening and closing at a slower speed then it use too.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:

-Curtain track motor is failing

-Possible Repair Solution: Replace Curtain Track Motor.

-Curtain track drive belt or track gears worn and slipping

-Possible Repair Solution: Replace belt and idler gears if part are still available. Or complete track replacement may be necessary.

-Some curtain track systems have multiple speed settings which may have accidentally been altered.

Possible Repair Solution: Confirm if your curtain track make and model has multi-speed settings and reset if they have to the desires speed.

-The curtain fabric has caught or is rubbing agains an object in the room.

-Possible Repair Solution: Inspect motorised curtains path of travel and identify any obstructions they may be catching the curtain.

PROBLEM 3: BUZZING OR KNOCKING SOUNDS COMING FROM MOTORISED CURTAIN TRACK.

Even though electric motorised curtain tracks do make noise when in motion, the sound should not be overly excessive.  Buzzing or very noisy motors should be looked at by a qualified technician.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:

- Motorised curtain track motor is starting to fail.

-Possible Repair Solution: Replace the curtain track motor. Depending on the age and make and model of your motorised curtain track, you may need to replace both the curtain track and motor. This may also require a qualified electrician to rewire new inline connections for the new motor if they are different to the old blind motor.

PROBLEM 4: MOTORISED CURTAIN TRACK IS NOT MOVING WHEN ACTIVATED

The motorised curtain is not moving when you press the remote control or wall switch to open and close it.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:

-The motorised curtain remote control or wireless wall switch may have a flat battery.

-Possible Repair Solution: Replace the battery in the motorised curtains remote control or wireless wall switch.

-The motorised curtains motor has blown.

-Possible Repair Solution: Replace  with a new curtain motor. Depending on the make, model and age of the motorised curtain track, both the track and motor may need to be replaced.

-There may be no power to the motor if it is hardwired. For battery powered motors check to see if batteries are flat.

Possible Repair Solution: Check fuse box to see if the safety switch has been tripped or switched off. Call a qualified electrician to check the wiring if repeatedly tripping the fuse. For battery operated motors, replace or recharge batteries if flat.
